Role Overview Imperial Star is seeking a dynamic and versatile HR Manager to serve as the backbone of our growing team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be a true “jack of all trades,” supporting the full employee lifecycle—from talent acquisition and recruitment to onboarding, engagement, and offboarding—while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations. As a trusted partner to leadership and employees alike, you’ll drive HR initiatives, champion a positive workplace culture, and help shape the future of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Lead full-cycle recruitment: Source, screen, and hire top talent for a variety of roles, partnering with hiring managers to define needs and develop effective job descriptions.
Manage job postings and candidate pipelines: Utilize job boards, social media, and networking to attract a diverse pool of applicants.
Coordinate interviews and assessments: Ensure a smooth, positive candidate experience from application to offer.
Negotiate and extend offers: Collaborate with leadership to secure top candidates and onboard them successfully.
Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Management
Own the onboarding process: Coordinate new hire paperwork, I-9 compliance, orientation, and pre-employment checks.
Support employee transitions: Manage internal transfers, promotions, and offboarding with care and attention to detail.
Champion employee engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
HR Policy Support & Communication
Provide guidance and support: Serve as the go-to resource for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Communicate change: Lead company-wide policy rollouts and change initiatives, ensuring clarity and engagement at all levels.
Maintain confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
HR Operations & Systems Management
Maintain accurate records: Manage employee data in HRIS systems (Workday/ADP) and other platforms.
Collaborate with payroll and benefits: Ensure timely enrollments, accurate data, and compliance with regulations.
Support payroll and benefits administration: Assist with invoice processing, COBRA, and other HR-related tasks.
Process Improvement & Documentation
Develop and refine SOPs: Create and maintain clear documentation for recurring HR tasks to drive efficiency and consistency.
Support talent retention: Identify opportunities to enhance employee satisfaction and reduce turnover.
Embrace change: Adapt quickly to the evolving needs of a fast-paced startup environment.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or higher is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in HR, with demonstrated success in recruitment and generalist functions, preferably in the solar industry.
Certification: Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational and analytical abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
Fluency/conversational Chinese is a plus but not required
