Our client, an operationally-oriented private equity firm, seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to oversee HR administration, payroll, and benefits management. Located in the heart of NYC, this role is pivotal in managing employee life cycles and ensuring compliance with employment regulations while supporting a firm culture grounded in action, trust, and service. The HR Manager will engage with all departments, making it an integral position within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, interns, and consultants, coordinating with IT and external HR providers.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll processing and annual bonuses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Benefits Oversight: Administer benefit plans, including enrollments, terminations, open enrollments, and liaising with brokers/providers. Reconcile monthly billing and ensure compliance with benefits regulations.
- Policy Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring organizational compliance. Update and maintain employee handbooks and related policies.
- Records Management: Maintain meticulous employee files, payroll records, and compliance documentation.
- Advisory Role: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries about policies, benefits, and general HR matters.
- Consultant Administration: Manage HR documentation and activities for third-party consultants supporting portfolio operations.
- Financial Coordination: Support T&E (travel and expense) policy adherence via Concur
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, with a strong academic record.
- 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in financial services or similar environments.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
