Responsibilities: • Review and advise on organizational policies, decision-making, and strategic planning for business administration and the annual budget • Hold exit interviews with employees and record their feedback to optimize our policies and procedures • Manage the relationship between employees and managers and advise on important issues such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment • Narrow down the talent pool to highly-qualified candidates, interview the shortlist, and onboard and train new hires • Optimize and enforce personnel policies and procedures • Process bi-weekly payroll in UKG: Audit timecards, PTO, holidays, and pay codes; resolve discrepancies before payroll close to ensure accurate and on-time pay. • Maintain employee pay data: Enter and update new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit information in UKG. • Ensure compliance & reporting: Manage tax withholdings, labor law compliance, audits, and generate payroll reports for leadership, finance, and HR. • Employee support & issue resolution: Respond to payroll questions, correct errors, process off-cycle checks when needed, and coordinate with HR on policy or timekeeping issues. Qualifications: • Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills • 3+ years as an HR manager, senior HR generalist, or in an upper-level HR position • Hold a bachelor’s degree in HR management, business management, or a similar field • Certified with the SHRM or a similar certification institute • 3+ years of payroll experience managing full-cycle payroll for 150–300 employees, with advanced hands-on experience in UKG (payroll, timekeeping, reporting, audits). • Expert knowledge of California payroll compliance, including wage & hour laws, meal and rest period premiums, overtime rules, sick leave, PTO accruals, final pay requirements, and penalties. • Proven compliance and risk-management mindset with experience handling audits, wage claims, garnishments, tax filings, and ensuring accurate payroll records in accordance with CA and federal regulations. • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, able to interpret labor laws, implement compliant payroll processes, and confidently partner with HR and leadership on complex payroll matters. Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
