    Job Summary

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR/Payroll Generalist to join our team, with a focus on payroll administration, risk management, and employee relations. In this hybrid role, you will split your time between our corporate Burbank office (3 days/week) and our client (distribution industry) in Rialto (2 days/week), while also providing HR guidance and expertise to additional clients from our Burbank location.

    Duties

    Payroll & Benefits

    • Manage weekly payroll preparation, including timesheet audits, corrections, and approvals
    • Administer and reconcile employee benefits programs
    • Process and track leaves of absence; distribute required documentation
    • Respond to client inquiries on payroll topics (overtime, commissions, etc.)

    Compliance & Risk

    • Support workplace safety, workers' compensation, and liability mitigation efforts
    • Ensure regulatory compliance across all client accounts
    • Administer timekeeping systems and maintain accurate records
    • Assist with wage and hour posters, personnel file audits, and related projects

    Employee Relations

    • Provide employee relations guidance and conduct workplace investigations
    • Facilitate employee performance reviews
    • Prepare separation documentation and conduct exit interviews
    • Process employee background checks as requested

    Client Services

    • Build strong working relationships with client ownership, management, and staff
    • Maintain personnel transaction records: hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations
    • Create and maintain job descriptions for client organizations
    • Analyze wage/salary data and develop competitive compensation recommendations

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • 3–5 years of HR generalist or equivalent work experience

    Skills & Competencies

    • Knowledge of applicable labor laws and compliance requirements
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Effective time management with ability to prioritize across multiple accounts simultaneously
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
    • Ability to anticipate and solve problems; collaborative, team-oriented mindset
    • Ability to travel between Burbank and Rialto locations weekly
    • Reliable transportation
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred — ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking employees is a strong plus
