Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our team for the summer. This role is critical in ensuring our department’s readiness for an upcoming organizational audit. The primary focus will be the comprehensive organization, filing, and auditing of employee records, along with providing essential support for the onboarding and background check processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or entry-level professional to gain hands-on experience in HR compliance and administration.
Primary Responsibilities
- Audit Preparation & Document Management: Lead the physical and electronic filing of employee documents. Ensure all personnel files are organized, updated, and compliant with internal standards for the upcoming audit.
- Onboarding Support: Assist the HR team with the processing of new hire paperwork, ensuring all required forms are completed accurately and submitted timely.
- Background Check Coordination: Support the background check process, including initiating requests and monitoring the status of pending reports.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate data entry within HR information systems and spreadsheets.
- Administrative Support: Assist with general office tasks, including scanning, and shredding.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Organizational Excellence: Proven ability to manage large volumes of paperwork and digital files with a high degree of accuracy.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for inconsistencies or missing information in sensitive documents.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and a general comfort level learning new digital platforms.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Discretion & Ethics: Absolute commitment to maintaining the security, privacy, and confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an office environment or administrative role.
