  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for client intake processing by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with each office, responding to office requests and concerns, and ensuring the insurance verification and authorization processes are completed. This is a non-exempt position.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Processes all referral and intake data for new clients into the computer system on a timely basis.
    • Completes referral verification that includes plan verification, authorization requirements, client out of pocket responsibility, and accurate determination of primary payer source.
    • Accurately enters a variety of data into information systems.
    • Relays, via email, intake verification details to specified office staff as confirmation of ability to accept client for care.
    • Obtains initial authorization for each client, based on plan requirements and system set up needs.
    • Completes bimonthly eligibility checks for all active clients, and maintains accurate documentation for billing purposes.
    • Verifies accuracy of data entered through use of information systems reports.
    • Alerts appropriate management team members regarding late or missing documents required for intake verification.
    • Maintains confidentiality of client and organization information at all times.
    • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential agency staff.
    • Maintains accurate record keeping and uploading of all handled paperwork, into EHR software.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    • At least two years experience in health care insurance verification, preferably in home health care information systems.
    • Able to use IBM-compatible systems and equipment.
    • High school graduate or equivalent, two years college preferred.
    • Demonstrates good communications, negotiation and public relations skills.
    • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
    • Demonstrates effective organizational skills.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
