Then Humane Society Naples invites you to apply to join our team as Guest Services Representative at our Main Shelter. A Guest Services Representative works in our lobby/reception area to receive guests, answer phones, and provide accurate information to the public on HSN's adoption program, veterinary services, pet surrender, and other general questions related to HSN operations, services, or companion animal care. This is a weekend position; applicants must be available Saturday, Sunday, and one other weekday.
As a Guest Services Representative, you will:
Greet and welcome all visitors to the shelter
Answer phones
Transfer/redirect calls to appropriate personnel
Accurately and professionally answer questions from the public
Assist visitors with sign-in process
Keep front desk area presentable and organized
Data entry and records updates
Receive and distribute mail and packages
Assist with special events and outreach
Work with and guide volunteer receptionists
The successful candidate will have:
Outgoing, positive demeanor
Excellent customer service skills in person and on the telephone
Basic computer and tablet use skill
Ability to learn new software; Familiarity with Gmail, Microsoft Office programs, and Shelterluv software preferred
Organizational skills
Patience
English and Spanish fluency required; additional proficiency in Haitian Creole fluency strongly preferred
Humane Society Naples routinely takes calls from individuals wishing to surrender their companion animals. Because we are a limited admissions, no-kill shelter, we are not always able to accommodate such requests. The ability to handle potentially emotional discussions in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner is essential.
Schedule:
Applicants to this position must be able to work Saturday and Sunday, 8 am - 5 pm, in addition to a 3rd day during the week. Applicants not available Saturday and Sunday will not be considered. This is a part-time position, 20-24 hours per week.
