The Veterinary Technician is responsible for assisting with day-to-day, hands-on care of HSHC animals. This includes medication distribution, vaccine administration, routine blood testing, daily health checks and triage of animals, and new intake management and evaluation. Other duties may include assisting with heartworm treatments and health certificates and driving the Humane Society van to transport animals to veterinary appointments, etc. In addition, the Vet Tech is required to perform Animal Care Technician functions as needed when the facility is short staffed. Cross-training on adoptions will be an occasional duty as well. Veterinary Technician Certification preferred.
