    Job Description JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the administration of duties specific to the Government Relations department. Assist Director of Government Relations in franchise-related activities including directed franchise activity, distribution of franchise fee checks and related activities, and interaction with local communities. Coordinate communications to franchise officials and other key stakeholders. Work independently to support KMA initiatives as assigned. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Work independently to support KMA initiatives as assigned Maintain data and files and produce and create necessary reports Coordinate communications projects with marketing department and system personnel Analyze current trends at local, state and federal levels Review/analyze various contractual documents and steward compliance Coordinate and produce annual newsletter Assist with budget management Produce a variety of reports including monthly budget actuals analysis and quarterly budget forecasts Post financial transactions in spreadsheets and trackers Maintain comprehensive and accurate records, documents and reports Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Ability to communicate orally and in writing in clear and straightforward manner Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Ability to prioritize and organize effectively Ability to maintain confidentiality of information Ability to process information accurately and efficiently Ability to use personal computing and software applications (i.e. Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, etc.) Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Knowledge of cable television and broadband products and services Knowledge of federal, state and local franchise and cable regulations REQUIRED EDUCATION Associate’s degree in business, political science or marketing or related field or equivalent experience REQUIRED RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE AND NUMBER OF YEARS Cable television/Broadband experience - 5+ Political/Government experience - 2+ Public Relations/Marketing experience - 2+ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Analytical/Interpersonal skills Bookkeeping skills Knowledge of federal, state, and local franchise and cable regulations WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment Ability to travel to various locations within assigned territory
