JOB DESCRIPTION

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Technology Business Consultant II in Houston, TX to support technology business consulting projects to meet specific client requirements. Serve as liaison between end-users and consultants during consulting projects. Expertly research and document client needs, technology or regulations related to system design, enhancement and acquiring hardware or software that will impact multiple platforms and applications. Define product scope, objectives, and requirements. Define specifications and data models for product development and testing. Create detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyze marketplace, industry, company, technology trends and best practices, vendor products and services, etc. also analyze system impacts to other systems and procedures. Devise and modify processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiencies and to solve most complex technical problems related to computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Assess available technologies and recommend solutions to consulting team. Write test plans and test cases to ensure enhancements made to applications meet client needs and application integrity is maintained. Conduct a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance tests. Conduct tests using client data to be certain client needs will be met. Influence clients, business partners and service providers regarding priorities, hardware and software selection and vendor selection. Consult directly with clients and may travel to client site. Act as team leader for technical aspects of consulting projects leading sub-plans or small projects. Mentor, guide, advise and review work of junior business systems analysts and technology business consultants. Play a key role in training client and technical support personnel on enhancements, new systems, or procedures. Serve as pre-sales support specialist.   

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: working in software development and coding in languages including C#, .NET, and Java; applying knowledge of software to application design and development to implement components based on application requirements; working with TCP/IP;; and utilizing tools and technologies including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, UI/UX design, XML, and XSLT. 10% travel required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
