    Job Description

    Hummingbird Scientific is looking for a skilled and experienced Systems Mechanical Design Engineer to work with our team in developing new products. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated experience in product development, a strong understanding of system design, and an understanding of Engineering Principles.

    The Systems Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to bringing new products to market. From concept to production, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that each product we create meets the highest standards for quality and performance. This includes creating 2D/3D models and drawings for parts and assemblies, conducting product testing, and managing projects from start to finish. While consistently conducting research to improve product performance and design, so that we can continue to innovate.

    Key Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience in product development.
    • Strong understanding of system design and product development principles (ergonomics, workflow design and optimization, component selection)
    • Background in design engineering Software development (UI design, control system, LabVIEW)
    • Proficiency with 2D / 3D CAD modeling and GD&T

    Education & Experience

    • MS in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
    • Minimum of 3 years industry experience in Mechanical Design

    Optional Qualifications

    • Experience with high-speed cameras is a plus
    • Experience with system-level electronics and instrumentation integration
    • Systematic familiarity with electrical systems
    • Lab/hands-on experience in electrical & mechanical assembly
    • Product testing experience
