Role Overview:
The HR representative is responsible for overseeing employee programs, recommending improvements to the employee relations policies and monitoring that all employee-related policies in each department align with organizational goals and established regulations. The successful candidate will work to attract top talent to fill open positions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee talent acquisition plans, which includes writing job descriptions for recruitment, carrying out interviews to identify suitable job applicants
- Work with departmental managers during talent acquisition, ensuring that job applicants meet the relevant requirements for the position
- Manage the onboarding process to introduce new employees to their colleagues, job responsibilities, and the organization’s expectations
- Oversee the performance review schedule to insure all employees are receiving feedback and coaching for strong performance
- Facilitate the offboarding process by conducting exit interviews to obtain feedback on the employee’s experience
- Managing employee relations, such as mediating and resolving conflicts to maintain a positive working environment
- Partner with the Accounts Manager for administering timely payroll, and managing accounting records for employee salaries
- Conduct wage surveys to appraise the effectiveness of the organization’s existing pay structure and implement changes accordingly
- Review and revise the HR policy handbook to reflect changing economic trends, legislation, and organizational goals
- Ensure that the organization complies with state and federal employment laws, and keep up to date with policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Commit to affirmative action programs by countering workplace discrimination and promoting and executing egalitarian employment practices
- Manage historical human resource records
- Oversee employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits
- Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Required Skills:
- Proven track record in previous HR management roles.
- Knowledge of employment law and recommended HR practices
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Significant experience in talent acquisition to include recruiting and hiring the best employees for the role
- Proficiency in HR information systems and databases
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess a high diplomatic and professional attitude towards managing interpersonal relationships with people at all levels
- Experience with workplace investigation, conflict management, and handling employee grievances and discipline
- Ability to maintain a fair and impartial perspective when analyzing a situation in order to consider broader implications for the organization
- Ability to effectively respond to inquiries and complaints from employees and upper management
- Effective problem solver who is able to analyze situations in order to create and implement practical solutions that meet organizational goals
- Demonstrated time management skills and capability in working with deadlines
- Proactive attitude in forecasting plausible issues and implementing protective measures
- Experienced at overseeing the administration of employee benefits programs
- Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in human resource roles
- 2+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations
