    Job Description

    Seeking a qualified, experienced Accounting Manager to work in our Corporate Office, located in Decatur, Georgia. This candidate will interact with Executive and C-level management teams, will be responsible for partnering with administrators at each location for weekly/monthly/quarterly data as required to ensure the financial success of the company. This candidate will also ensure contracts and trusting are in order to be in compliance with all laws pertaining to the funeral and cemetery industry. This is a brief overview of the day-to-day operations and is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of the job description.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    WEEKLY

    • Posting and review of all Cemetery and Funeral Home contracts (Accounts Receivable) and reconcile with SRS and QuickBooks (QB).
    • Trusting Cemetery Compliance - State of Georgia for Perpetual Care and Pre-Need Merchandise Trusting (weekly payments and reconciliation of collected/owed trusting)
    • Reconcile cash receipts/Balance manual checkbook with bank balance.
    • Enter all AP invoices into QuickBooks for each operating facility and ensure all payments are made in a timely manner.
    • Calculate commissions (bi-weekly)
    • Prepare Cash position report every Wednesday, to include AP check run due dates within 12 days out. This includes AP and AR aging reports and forecasted cash flow.
    • Enter Cash receipts from daily deposit logs/post to register once completed.
    • Attend weekly Monday management meetings.

    MONTHLY

    • American Expresses Expenses / download statement into QB with proper coding.
    • Sales & Use Tax - Due on 20th/ Electronic Filing and Payments via online.
    • Reconcile revenue and sales log with QuickBooks to ensure all contracts have been recorded properly.

    QUARTERLY/ANNUALLY

    • l099's
    • 1095's (ACA Compliance)
    • Assist with State and/or Federal regulation or compliance audits (as necessary)
    • Assist Director of Finance (Christina) on all tax relating Items for Quarterly and Annual reporting by providing data and schedules for CPA.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • Previous experience in an Accounting Manager role
    • Experienced with QuickBooks software
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Proficient in Excel and other computer related programs
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
