    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The HR and Retention Manager is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, retaining, and assisting the onboarding of qualified Class CDL drivers. This person will be responsible for driving the performance and productivity of the recruiting team by providing strategic and tactical day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to be successful.

    Considerable skill in interviewing techniques experienced using all recruiting sites, performing MVR, background, and work history checks. Because an approximate number of full-time drivers will terminate during the course of a year, the objective is to replace these lost employees as quickly and economically as possible.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in working within the HR policies, recruiting, and marketing divisions within a trucking/transportation company.

    Job is included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

    • · Communicate with potential candidates through text messages, phone calls, emails, video conferences, to assist in the progress through the onboarding process including ensuring their attendance in orientation
    • · Complete inbound and outbound call campaigns, including meeting the daily outbound call quota, to include cold calls and reconnecting with prior applicants
    • Identifies strategies for organizational, departmental, and individual training and development.
    • Manages full recruitment cycle. Develops strategies for recruitment and retention of staff and drivers.
    • Engages multiple social media platforms to identify and attract qualified candidates.
    • Oversees hiring process ensuring post-offer, pre-employment requirements are satisfactorily met. Oversees onboarding to ensure a positive experience for all new hires.
    • Is knowledgeable on Federal and State leave requirements. Oversees Leave of Absence Management. Employee's wage garnishment notices.
    • Supervises payroll processing, ensuring accuracy. Is knowledgeable on all aspects of payroll processing.
    • Is knowledgeable on company benefits and conducts and oversees annual Open Enrollment meetings.
    • Other tasks/functions/projects as assigned.
