    Job Description

    Cost Control Engineer/Specialist-                                                                                  LOCATION: NEW JERSEY

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Utilizing industry best practices, prepare cost estimates and forecasts for Substation, Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. Perform project analysis with project team to identify potential cost bearing issues that can impact the detailed forecasts/estimates. Utilize the most detailed documentation available for each phase of project for continuous refinement of expected project costs. Develop and organize estimates/forecasts and analysis for both internal and external use. Perform analysis of project actuals against latest forecasts and incorporate results into forecasting methodology to ensure continuous improvement of forecast accuracy.

    Contribute to the development of short-term and long-term business and cost planning. Provide detailed process and cash flow based on estimate and forecast assumptions to aid in the development of project baseline budget or forecast.

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENT

    MINIMUM OF 5 TO 10 YEARS OF PROJECT COST CONTROL EXPERIENCE including cash flow forecasting and analysis.

    • CANDIDATE MUST HAVE SOME SAP SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE OR ANY OTHER COST SOFTWARE
    • Must be able to Develop, implement, and maintain Monthly Forecasting, Invoicing, and Cost Reporting.
    • It is recommended that candidate have experience with Project Controls concepts such as project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closeout are needed.
    • It is recommended that candidate have experience with the following concepts; estimating, forecasting, cost controls, and project variance reporting.
    • You must have the ability to develop and maintain budgets.
    • An entry level of understanding of the Accrual Processes, invoice review, and validation.
    • Ability to work on and be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously  
    • Having ERP financial experience is preferred.

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Sciences, Business or Finance – Advanced Degree desired (MS, MBA, PhD). Preferred Designation (if any): PE, CCM, CCP, PSP, EVP, PMP, etc.
