    Job Description

    SALARY:  $13.05/HR. (1,500 HOURS MAXIMUM PER YEAR)  THIS IS A PART TIME YEAR-ROUND POSITION.  PAID MEDICAL LEAVE (UP TO 40 HOURS PER YEAR).

    We are a year-round park facility.  During a regular season the office is open 363 days per year (closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day).  Our hours are shorter in the winter months - October through March (8 am to *4 pm every day) Our office hours expand as warmer weather arrives April through September (closing at *8 pm daily).  The right candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays.  We are looking for a self starter, but who is not afraid to ask for direction as needed.  The right candidate has a team attitude and is willing to assist in all duties that benefit the using public.   

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

    Under the direction of the Park Operations Supervisor or designate:

    • Greeting and receiving visitors, provide park information as needed
    • Park permit sales, program registrations, park event scheduling 
    • Operating the telephone system switchboard to relay incoming and internal calls to the proper stations
    • Use of radio for contact with park police and other staff.
    • Taking messages and providing information to callers
    • Process incoming/out-going mail
    • Performing a variety of routine and complex technical and administrative tasks
    • Routine cleaning, organizing, keeping maps and information supplied as needed
    • Give Tollbooth Operators breaks and assistance as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in public administration, customer service or a related field a plus. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to operate listed tools and equipment Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, filing, and record management Working knowledge and/or skill in a variety of computer software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, and database software Ability to perform essential duties
