  • Responsibilities

     

    Responsible for the installation, test, and balance energy management systems as they pertain to the installation of controls for refrigeration systems, HVAC, and lighting in a grocery store and/or cold storage distribution format. Position has direct responsibility for project execution and leading a team to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. Accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget.

     

    • Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction. • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff. • Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes regarding customer specific documentation and closeout processes • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion by reviewing hours worked and material cost of project • Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out. • Have thorough knowledge of various energy management systems, heating, ventilation systems, air • conditioning and refrigeration systems;( Novar, Danfoss, and Emerson CPC) • Ability to read and comprehend plans and blueprints as appropriate to trade regarding the installation of all cabling, communication loops, and components associated with the installation of energy management and refrigerant leak systems • Think analytically and independently, install, program, and troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair control systems for HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting controls in a grocery store and cold storage atmosphere • Follow applicable building and safety code requirements during the installation of such equipment and controls • Ensures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects. • Use and maintenance of trade specific materials, tools, instrumentation, and equipment used during the installation of EMS systems • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals for customers and internal employees • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and controls problems, offer solutions and implement them • Have knowledge in control strategies for lighting, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment in the following areas but not limited to:

     

       • Single condensing units    • Multiplex refrigeration racks    • Rooftop condensers    • Water and air heat reclaim    • RTU units heat/cool control    • AHU unit heat/cool control    • Dehumidification units and control    • Enthalpy and economizer strategy    • Zoning and application    • Case and walk-in defrost and temperature control    • Case lighting    • Electronic refrigeration leak detection systems    • Have general knowledge in repairing issues as they pertain to the operation of this equipment through the EMS systems

    • Capable of supervising work projects with small groups of employees. • Acquire knowledge through on the job training, which includes new product developments, service bulletins and issues. • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures including OSHA and any local authorities governing requirements. • Demonstrate knowledge of safety by successfully completing the CERTI-TECH safety test within the first 90 days of employment. • Complete necessary documents (work tickets, change orders, and timesheets) and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. Maintain and manage truck inventory in an accurate, neat and orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines (If applicable). • Train and direct the work of other staff engaged in this area of work; follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population. • Develop and maintain excellent customer relations. • Follow branch policies and procedures.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • High School diploma or GED required. • EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required • HVAC/R with minimum 1-year commercial experience. • Valid Driver's license and a safe driving record. • Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift objects up to fifty pounds. • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, detail-oriented and highly motivated. • Mechanical aptitude. • Ability to work nights, weekends and out of town as required.
