Job Title: HVAC Master Technician / Comfort Advisor Location: Los Angeles County, CA (12-city service area) Company: Mor Air Inc. Who We Are: Mor Air Inc. is a quality-first residential HVAC company serving homeowners across LA County. We do custom, code-compliant installs with proper duct design and airflow, not slap-it-in-and-run work. Permits, safety, and craftsmanship are non-negotiable here. We are a small, growing team where your decisions actually matter. You work directly with the owner, not buried under 6 layers of management. The Role: This is a hybrid role: part Master Service/Install Technician, part in-home Comfort Advisor. You will: • Diagnose complex residential HVAC issues, including low and high-voltage electrical and control systems. • Identify design and ductwork problems and recommend proper redesigns when needed. • Perform high-quality repairs, start-ups, and replacements that meet or exceed code. • Run in-home estimates using our Good / Better / Best options on an iPad. • Educate homeowners, present options clearly, and close replacement and accessory sales at healthy margins. • Offer maintenance memberships and appropriate upgrades on service calls. • Document jobs accurately in Housecall Pro, including notes and photos. • Mentor junior techs/helpers in best practices and professionalism. You Might Be a Fit If • You are an experienced residential HVAC technician, typically 7+ years in the field. • You can read and troubleshoot wiring diagrams confidently, not guess. • You understand airflow and duct design, not just equipment swap-outs. • You are comfortable in a customer’s home, explaining options in plain English. • You like earning more when you produce more, and you actually want that responsibility. • You care about doing it right the first time and hate callbacks from sloppy work. Requirements: • Valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record. • EPA certification. • Strong residential service and installation background. • Ability to pass background and reference checks. What We Offer • Competitive pay based on experience, plus commissions on sold system replacements and performance bonuses for memberships and add-ons. • Quality leads provided: You are not cold calling. • Support from a dispatcher and owner who respect your time and craft. • Mostly residential work with customers who value quality, not the cheapest bid. • Company vehicle, tablet, and phone for work use. • Ongoing training in advanced troubleshooting, duct design, and in-home sales process. • Clear path to become the “go-to” Master Tech in the shop, with influence on standards and training. Schedule • Full-time. • Daytime hours with a shared after-hours rotation, not 24/7 burnout. If you are a top-tier tech who wants to be paid and respected like one, and you want to grow into the lead expert and closer in a serious, quality-focused shop, we want to talk to you. Responsibilities: • Connect pipes or tubing from the equipment to the fuel, water, or refrigerant source • Advise clients on how to properly maintain their new equipment • Inspect all pipes, tubing joints, and connections for leaks • Enter completed projects and the parts used into database • Set up all heating, air conditioning, air quality, refrigeration, and control systems • Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems from changeouts to new cut-ins. • Install flex or metal ductwork. • Design, draw, and place orders for custom sheet metal materials. • Lead other installers or helpers in an installation job. • Train junior installers. Qualifications: • EPA 608 refrigerant recovery certification required • Must be comfortable working in small crawl spaces and attics • We require candidates to have a high school diploma or GED • Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school and 2+ years as an HVAC installation technician • Must have a basic understanding of high voltage connections and low voltage electrical wiring Experience: • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, specifically within residential and light commercial sectors. • Proficient in installing, servicing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems, including ductwork and refrigeration systems.
