The HVAC Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This position includes diagnosing system issues, performing preventative maintenance, ensuring compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations, and recommending energy-efficient solutions. Responsibilities: • Install HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ducts, thermostats, and refrigeration equipment. • Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems by testing and inspecting equipment after installation. • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and optimal performance. • Clean or replace filters, check refrigerant levels, calibrate thermostats, and lubricate moving parts. • Inspect HVAC systems for signs of wear and tear, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system problems, including electrical issues, refrigerant leaks, or mechanical failures. • Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, pumps, or thermostats. • Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs while minimizing downtime for the customer. • Advise customers on system upgrades and energy-efficient alternatives for improving system performance. • Install and configure energy-efficient HVAC systems and smart thermostats. • Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards. • Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and wearing proper protective equipment. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications • Minimum 10 years’ experience. • Must have knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment. • EPA Certification. • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, refrigeration cycles, and tools used in the trade. • Knowledge of Codes & Regulations: Understanding and adhering to relevant building codes and safety regulations. • Ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions quickly. • Precision in installation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure systems function efficiently and safely. • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain complex issues in simple terms. Preferred Qualifications • The ability to measure and draw a duct is a plus. Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to move safely and effectively throughout active work sites, as well as the ability to see, hear, and communicate verbally with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal job functions may require maintaining physical stamina for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods. The position involves frequent mobility and regular work outside of an office setting for prolonged durations, including exposure to varying weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and other inclement conditions. Work activities may include traversing rough or uneven terrain and routinely lifting up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including but not limited to: hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
