  • Responsibilities

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of properties and associations. Working within established policies and accounting standards, this role ensures transactions are properly recorded, accounts are reconciled, and variances are researched and explained. Serving as a key financial partner to Community Managers and Boards, the Staff Accountant provides reliable reporting, supports budget preparation, and helps maintain the overall financial integrity of the communities they serve. Responsibilities: • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statement packages for assigned condominiums and/or homeowners associations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards. • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare supporting schedules, and analyze income statements and balance sheets for accuracy and variances. • Post journal entries, review general ledger activity, and correct errors prior to month-end close. • Review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions for proper coding and recording; investigate and resolve discrepancies. • Research and explain financial variances or unusual items, providing clear reporting to management and clients. • Support audits and year-end processes, including preparing audit schedules, posting adjusting entries, and assisting independent CPA firms. • Prepare annual budget worksheets and provide financial guidance to Community Association Managers, Boards, and junior accounting staff. Qualifications: • The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have at least 3 years of accounting experience. • A deep understanding of general accounting principles and their practical application is a mandatory requirement for this position. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word is a must, while familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint is highly desirable. • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential qualities we are seeking in potential candidates. • Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, willingness, and the ability to manage various tasks efficiently. • We are looking for a self-motivated individual who shows initiative and can work independently. • Detail-oriented candidates capable of delivering high-quality work within deadlines and efficiently handling multiple tasks will excel in this role. Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 yearly
