  • Responsibilities

    Your primary role as an Electrical Engineer I will be to design and customize control system equipment to meet individual customer’s specifications.  You will have the opportunity to blend your engineering and design skills with in-house hands-on testing and validation activities.  You will create and design control panels, wiring schematics along with PLC programs to meet customer specifications.  You will be instrumental in the success in customer solutions by validating specifications, selecting appropriate components, developing an accurate bill of materials, producing precise drawings and control logic.

    Daily interactions will include interfacing with the Project Management, Sales, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and Procurement teams during the execution of projects.  You will support multiple customers at once and be involved with the Field Service Technicians during the post shipment phase of the project to ensure customers satisfaction.  You will also contribute to the growth of the business by collaborating with the Sales, Applications Engineering and Marketing teams to analyze designs and develop newer and better solutions as product offerings for our customers.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Design electrical control systems for HTC products and skidded process systems while adhering to codes, standards, and customer specification requirements
    • Develop panel drawings complete with bill of material using CAD, PDM and ERP systems
    • Specify electrical/electronic components for standard & custom control systems
    • Develop, test and validate control systems including PLC programs for equipment and systems
    • Develop equipment operation manuals (IOM’s) for controls and systems
    • Review and interpret customer specifications and proposals
    • Engage with external partners (suppliers, panel shops, engineering consultants) to produce solutions
    • Communicate with Customers and HTC technical personnel on troubleshooting and support of equipment and systems both in the manufacturing facility and in the field
    • Investigate and research new technology available to apply to new and existing products
    • Identify & execute improvements for equipment designs and execution processes within the department
    • Provide labor and material estimates for electrical and control system programs & designs
    • Support the Sales Team with technical information and discussions where required
    • Train and demonstrate equipment to internal and external customers and technical support staff

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong communication skills for direct Customer contact & leading technical discussions
    • Highly detail oriented, organized with prioritization and time management skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for providing a high level of product design and innovation
    • Highly motivated requiring minimal supervision and loves having multiple projects simultaneously
    • PC literate, including Microsoft Office software
    • Proficiency with engineering CAD software (AutoDesk, Dessault, etc)

     DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Familiar with engineering concepts, best practices and procedures in electrical engineering / design
    • Control panel design and wiring including hands-on experience
    • Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams
    • Process systems and familiarity: valves, pumps and instrumentation
    • Experience interpreting customer specifications for engineered-to-order projects
    • Troubleshooting controls systems and supporting customers either remotely or on-site
    • PLC programming experience

     EDUCATION:  Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

     TRAVEL:Up to 20% travel, domestic and occasional international locations

    • Must possess legal authorization to work in the US and a valid US Real ID driver’s license
