    Job Description

    RESPEC seeks an experienced Hydrogeology Program Manager located in our Florida, location.

    We are seeking an accomplished Senior Level Hydrogeologist with 15+ years of experience to lead complex water resource projects and staff across Florida. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in hydrogeology, underground injection control, and wellfield design, along with a strong background in project and team management. This is a senior leadership role responsible for technical oversight, regulatory coordination, and strategic project delivery within a high-performing water resources group. Responsibilities include:

    • Develop and grow hydrogeology practice in Florida through client development and management
    • Hire and mentor staff on technical and project delivery
    • Lead and manage multidisciplinary water resources projects from inception to completion, including permitting, testing, and system rehabilitation
    • Oversee and direct Underground Injection Control (UIC) permitting, compliance testing, and Mechanical Integrity Testing (MIT) activities
    • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables for municipal and utility clients
    • Serve as client liaison with regulatory agencies such as FDEP and WMDs
    • Develop technical specifications, contractor bid documents and manage well drilling and rehabilitation oversight
    • Interpret complex hydrogeologic data and provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field
    • Florida Professional Geologist (PG) License
    • 15+ years of experience in hydrogeology, with a focus on UIC, groundwater modeling, and permitting
    • Proven track record of successful project management, including deep injection wells, well abandonment, and aquifer testing
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with experience managing technical teams and regulatory coordination

    Preferred:

    • Master's degree in Hydrogeology
    • Prior experience working with or for regulatory agencies (e.g. WMD, FDEP)
    • Expertise in brackish wellfield design, water quality assessment, and GIS analysis
    • Active member of relevant professional organizations (e.g., NGWA, FAPG, GSA)

    Compensation: Salary depends on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.
