    SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for administration of the day to day operations of the Human Resources department. Job duties range from routine to complex and regularly require interaction and collaboration with all levels of staff. The position requires the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement when identifying and resolving employee related matters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Primarily responsible for recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt positions to include, job requisition approvals, maintaining and writing job descriptions, posting positions, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, communicating with hiring managers and coordinating and scheduling interviews. Preparation of monthly recruitment reports also required. ● Liaison for temporary staffing agency and Managers/Supervisors  ● Handles simple to moderate employee relations matters. Provides coaching, support and training to employees, managers and supervisory staff. ● Primarily responsible for the execution of the onboarding process. Conducts new hire orientation, new hire paperwork, training on company policies, and coordination between management to ensure a smooth integration. ● Responsible for workers compensation administration including claim reporting, investigations, tracking, monitoring and problem solving and coordination with insurance carrier, medical provider and employee. Assist with preparations and maintenance of OSHA log as required. ● Effectively supports change management initiatives by communicating new, changing, and existing policies and procedures while enforcing and ensuring understanding and compliance. ● Supports and stays current on compliance requirements, makes recommendations and advises management of needed action in areas such as EEO, harassment prevention, I-9, employee files, wage and hour and a variety of state and federal employment laws and regulations. Provides support for compliance reporting and internal/external audits.                                                                     ● Implements and supports various projects and initiatives to streamline HR processes by setting timelines and schedules, conducting research, analyzing data and making recommendations. ● Provides excellent customer service by consistently demonstrating our core values. ● Implements annual open enrollment changes and administrates benefit renewals. ● Administrates and maintains the HRIS system ensuring data integrity. Maintains HRIS records and personnel files. Processes new hires, transfers, terminations, leaves of absences and exit surveys in coordination with HR Manager and payroll. Compiles, generates and prepares reports as requested by management. ● Supports all internal and external audits as requested. ● Provides general clerical and administrative support (filing, sorting, copying, data entry, etc.) to ensure personnel records and files are maintained in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies and procedures ● May be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities however does provide leadership support, coaching and training to all employees. The position requires ability to positively influence without authority, drive change and continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university; minimum of five years hands on of progressive Human Resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  ●Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification highly desired.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ● Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration and core competencies in the areas of:                    ✓ Employment Law (CA and federal) ✓ Wage and Hour ✓ Workers Compensation/ Safety ✓ Recruitment ✓ LOA Management ✓ Benefits Administration ✓ Compensation ● Experience in Manufacturing environment a plus. ● Knowledge of safety practices, worker's compensation and basic OSHA regulations. ● Strong written skills with ability to prepare various communications such as e-mails, memos, postings and general correspondence. ● Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to earn trust and respect of co-workers, management and staff. ● Ability to verbally communicate one on one or in large groups with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. ● Ability and experience conducting presentations and general HR training. ● Ability to resolve a variety of employee related matters in a professional, friendly, and confidential manner effectively using tack and diplomacy. ● Ability to work independently with ambiguity and with periodic supervisory guidance. Flexible, patient attitude is a must. ● Ability to handle a heavy workload, apply effective prioritizing, organizational and time management skills. ● Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis. ● Demonstrated ability to develop and improve work processes and systems. ● Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, HRIS (ADP Workforce Now knowledge a plus). ● Valid CA Driver's License with ability and willingness to travel locally on a regular basis and support various shifts as needed. ● Bilingual in Tagalog and/or Spanish a plus.
