    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HBOT Nurse to join our wound care and hyperbaric medicine team. This role is responsible for providing safe, effective nursing care to patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The position is Monday–Friday, daytime hours only—no nights, weekends, or holidays.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct thorough patient assessments before, during, and after HBOT sessions.
    • Operate and monitor hyperbaric chambers according to established safety protocols.
    • Educate patients and families on HBOT procedures, expectations, and aftercare.
    • Monitor for and respond to patient complications (e.g., barotrauma, oxygen toxicity, claustrophobia).
    • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
    • Document patient care, chamber logs, and treatment outcomes accurately.
    • Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and clinical staff to deliver integrated care.
    • Maintain compliance with hyperbaric safety standards, infection control, and fire-prevention protocols.
    • Assist in emergency procedures and provide resuscitative care when required.
    • Start and manage IVs, verify consents, and prepare patients for surgery.

    Qualifications

    • Active RN license in Wisconsin.
    • BLS and ACLS certification required.
    • Certification in Hyperbaric Nursing (CHRN) preferred, or willingness to obtain.
    • 1–2 years of wound care, critical care, emergency, or perioperative nursing experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and patient education skills.
    • Comfort working in confined spaces and responding calmly in high-pressure situations.
