HYUNDAI AMERICA TECHNICAL CENTER (HATCI) IS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE PRODUCT PLANNING ENGINEER FOR OUR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE TEAM IN CHINO, CA LOCATION:
SUMMARY
Analyze CV Industry & Product, such as Vehicle, Technology and Market/Consumer & Regulation trends for NA market, with focus on providing input and recommendations to support development of Hyundai/Kia Medium-duty and Heavy-duty Commercial Vehicles, with supplemental Light Commercial Vehicle support as-needed. Initial focus will be on creating reports and recommendations for Senior Management based on market findings with subsequent work becoming more specific as it relates to customer identification, product positioning, brand identity, and vehicle specifications. Position reports within the CV Product Planning Organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Occasional domestic travel may be expected for vehicle manufacturer & trade shows up to 20% of the time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Proficient knowledge of Automotive products, ideally CV-related products
Automotive regulation & certification-related experience desired
Product Planning, Automotive industry analysis or similar experience desired
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior
Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements.
Flexible, organized and able to work effectively with all levels of employees.
Fluency with English language (Bilingual Korean language skill preferred, but not necessary)
Market survey experience (including interviews with customers, dealers and fleets) preferred
Experience in performing Internet-based desk research
Experience in summarizing Industry news articles or papers in a report format
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Product Development (Mechanical or Automotive engineering major preferred)
Master’s degree or MBA preferred, but not required
2-3 years of experience with OEM, supplier or consulting company preferred but not necessary, ideally in Commercial Vehicle Product Planning or similar full vehicle consideration
Automotive industry-related research experience preferred
Experience working in a culturally diverse team environment
