Job Description

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a NVH Test and Development Engineer at our Irvine, California facility.

Responsibilities:

• Test and Develop the Noise and Vibration performance of North American Market Hyundai, Kia & Genesis prototype through production vehicles
• Perform NVH and Wind Noise subjective evaluations, investigate problem root causes, develop appropriate countermeasures, and summarize findings
• Conduct experimental Noise, Vibration and Aeroacoustic investigations (for example: Modal Analysis, Transfer Path Analysis, Sound Quality Analysis ...) in support of prototype and pilot vehicle development
• Utilize experimental data acquisition systems and NVH analysis software (HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS, LMS Test Lab, ...)
• Benchmark competitive vehicles for technology & trends including component analysis
• Evaluate overall vehicle performance with North America Customers’ perspective in mind
• Analyze customer feedback survey results (IQS, Consumer Report, and internal clinics)
• Conduct customer preference studies and correlate results to objective metrics
• Interface regularly with Engineering Design Departments and local Marketing & Sales Organizations
• Work closely and provide technical support to Hyundai and Kia North American manufacturing plants during pilot and production stages
• Support development activities at our Proving Ground
• Create and present clear & concise technical reports
• Work in a small team environment as well as independently
• Travel up to 30%, domestically and internationally to support product development and testing at our proving grounds and plants

Required Education:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Master of Science degree in Acoustics or Noise & Vibration
• 3 or more years of relevant engineering experience in the automotive industry
• 3 or more years of NVH testing & development experience
• Coursework in Noise & Vibration
• Experience with Noise & Vibration test equipment and analysis software including HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS, LMS Test Lab, and Matlab
• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
