The Group’s Urban Air Mobility Division is designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities, allowing passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination.     ROLE OVERVIEW:

    We are looking for a leader for our Systems Engineering team in support of the engineering team. This position will lead groups responsible for overall development and integration of systems. This role requires an experienced professional with expertise in requirements definition, management & performance measurement within a product development environment. You will work with the research & development Verticals, and will liaise closely with the HATCI Strategy Team to ensure requirements meet our customer & business case needs. Our ideal candidate is a team player, a mentor, and exhibits a can-do attitude while approaching his or her work with vigor and determination.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for Systems Engineering organization execution -cost, schedule, budget, risk
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team and/or cross-disciplinary research & development teams
    • Manage execution of work by teams and team members through monitoring progress, providing technical direction, and problem solving solutions
    • Manage broad team of mass properties, cost engineering, configuration management, and systems engineering and integration
    • Responsible for defining and ensuring compliance to the requirements development and configuration management process across the R&D organization
    • Ensure that safety is integral to the development process
    • Promote cohesiveness between System Safety and Systems Engineering teams
    • Provide guidance in industry best practices, as well as Company core values, to promote development of world-class engineering talent
    • Support new business initiatives though trade studies, concept development, proposal responses, and customer presentations
    • Manage the product development capacity and planning process through active recruiting and retention of skilled employees
    • Manage the advancement of the product development process by providing technical support, developing tools and infrastructure, facilitating learning and continuity across teams

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • B.S in the areas of Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Systems, Industrial Engineering or other related fields
    • Model Based Systems Engineering and Agile/Lean methodologies
    • Experience with ARP4754A system development process on a certification program
    • Experience with requirements management and configuration management tools
    • 10+ years in systems design, development integration, and certification
    • 5+ years of demonstrated progression in inspiring and leading technical teams
    • Demonstrated excellence across all Systems Engineering domains
    • Critical thinker and adept at relationship building and leading through influence

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • M.S in Systems Engineering
    • Experience with electric propulsion air or ground vehicles
    • Experience with high rate automotive manufacturing
    • Experience with FAA or EASA certification projects
    • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies
    • Experience with CAFTA or other fault tree analysis tools
    • Experience with DO-254 and/or DO-178 certification
