Job Description
The International Cinematographers Guild, Local 600 IATSE, is the largest camera and publicist union in the world. Applications are being accepted for a Communications Assistant. The Communications Department currently consists of a Communications Manager, a Communications Coordinator and magazine staff. The Communications Assistant is a new position in the Western Region, located in our Los Angeles Office.

DEFINITION/STANDARDS: Under the direction of the Communications Manager, this new position will be responsible for assisting the Communications department. The department oversees the Guild’s websites, email communications, ICG Magazine, virtual panels, social media and public relations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: •Provide general administrative support to the communications department •Maintain and update communications calendar •Gather content from all three regions for weekly newsletter •Generate first drafts of communications to members using an email template for review •Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports •Maintain a database of communications (email blasts, newsletters, 600LIVE! stories, ICGmagazine articles, press releases, presentations) •Assist in updating web content and maintaining all social media content and channels asneeded •Respond to basic member and staff inquiries and / or requests •Organize and maintain all documents for the team •Take meeting notes and provide timely follow-up •Perform other related duties as directed by the Communications Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: •College degree/2 years of experience in related field •Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft 365,familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) •Excellent communicational skills - both written and verbal •An eagle eye - paying close attention to details •An Organizing genius! PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience as a Communications Assistant in a labor union or entertainment industry
LICENSE AND PHYSICAL CLASS: A valid Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
