    BASIC JOB FUNCTION:

    Program Supervisor I is responsible for assisting in the provision of direct clinical supervision to the program staff for ABLE’s new 24/7/365 Mobile Crisis Care System, which serves the North Lawndale Community.

    Mobile Crisis Care was developed to provide an effective, immediate response to individuals presenting with a mental health crisis anywhere, anytime. Mobile Crisis Care teams are dispatched into the community, at any location where the person is experiencing a non-violent crisis. Crisis services include assessment, treatment, stabilization, and linkage to appropriate services, diverting individuals from unnecessary legal system involvement and/or hospitalization.

    Program Supervisor I’s key duties & responsibilities: (1) supervise the Community Outreach Engagement Specialists; (2) lead the development of a specific educational and training program for Community Outreach Engagement Specialists; (3) assist with the supervision of the mobile crisis response teams; and (4) provide a small percentage of direct service.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    1. Assist with the ongoing development of the Crisis Care System infrastructure at ABLE.

    2. Knowledgeable of SAMHSA's National Guidelines for Behavioral Health Crisis Care System.

    3. Understand case management needs and facilitate linkages/referrals for your caseload. This requires knowledge of federal, state, and local resources of various agencies providing services to the community.

    4. Complete the IM-CAT (Illinois Medicaid Crisis Assessment Tool) training within thirty (30) days of employment.

    5. Actively participate in or lead weekly team meetings and case presentations. Monitor and ensure the fidelity of Crisis Care System protocols and procedures for your team.

    6. Be responsive and proactive upon receipt of calls for the Mobile Crisis Response Team and coordinate activities, as necessary.

    7. Respond to crisis situations, conduct risk assessments, and complete safety planning with residents in crisis.

    8. Conduct brief clinical therapy/counseling, as needed.

    9. Provide advocacy for clients and maintain communication with providers.

    10. On-call after-hours responsibilities, as required.

    11. Complete (as direct care provider) and Review (as supervisor) all required documentation and paperwork (e.g., mental health assessments, treatment plans, progress notes).

    12. Work closely with the Billing Specialist to ensure that billable services/insurance claims are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.

    13. Assist Project Director and Program Supervisor II with monthly reports, compilation of all relevant data (including successes, challenges, improvement plans, and next steps).

    14. Ensure that all clinical and case management records are compliant and up to date.

    15. Participate in agency and community meetings, as required.

    16. Maintain ongoing communication regarding the treatment process with the Project Director.

    17. Assist Project Director with file reviews as assigned on a quarterly basis.

    18. Other duties as assigned by the Project Director and/or CEO/President.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Three [3] years post-masters experience in the social services (preferred).

    2. At least two [2] years supervisory experience.

    3. Three or more years of experience working with populations exposed to trauma; experience establishing relationships with community supportive service providers and coordinating delivery of services to North Lawndale residents.

    4. Strong knowledge of unique challenges associated with individuals experiencing homelessness, post-traumatic stress disorder, drug and/or alcohol abuse, disabilities, and/or other mental/emotional disorders.

    5. Comfortable and experienced working in inner-city communities (highly preferred).

    6. Ability to effectively lead and empower a team.

    7. Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

    8. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work non-traditional hours.

    9. Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

    10. IM+CANS and IM-CAT certification, a plus.

    11. Crisis experience, a plus.

    12. Experience with working with peer support/engagement specialists, a plus.

    13. Knowledge of federal, state, local, and private social service regulations, and compliance.

    14. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office, Data Entry software, and telehealth platforms.

    EDUCATIONAL AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

    1. Education: Master’s degree REQUIRED in social work, counseling, psychology, or any other related field.

    2. Licensure: State of Illinois, LSW or LPC, a plus.

    3. A valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and access to a motor vehicle is required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT :

    1. Work may be stressful due to consumer and environmental trauma.

    2. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

    3. Ability to lift 10-to 15 lbs.
