RMS WILL BE PERFORMING BASE OPERATION SUPPORT (BOS-1) TO THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES AT AHMAD AL JABER AIR BASE (AJAB) IN KUWAIT, AS PART OF THE AFCAP IV CONTRACT.

SUMMARY:

The Fire Chief oversees the Fire and Emergency Service department and ensures all personnel maintain required certifications and fitness for duty.  The Fire Chief ensures the department provides continuous services to ensure the protection of life, property, and environment as a result of an accident, man-made or natural disaster.  The department performs offensive HAZMAT and Confined Space operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for responding to short notice requests for information.
• Schedules and conducts drills and exercises to maintain a sound structural fire fighting force.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED required.   (4) year degree in fire safety related field preferred. 
• Must have three (3) years' experience managing a diverse and separated response team and should include CBRN, HAZMAT, WMD emergencies, Confined Space, Vehicle Extraction, and Structural Firefighting.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• The Fire Chief shall have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in overseeing the fire and emergency service department and ensure all personnel assigned fire and emergency service duties shall maintain required certifications and fitness for duty. 
• The Fire Chief will ensure the Fire and Emergency Services shall provide continuous fire and emergency services to ensure the protection of life, property and environment as a result of an accident, man-made or natural disaster. 
• The department will perform Offensive HazMat and Confined Space operations. The Fire Chief shall have the following Certificates: Fire Officer IV; Fire Instructor II; Fire Inspector II; Airport Fire Fighter *; Hazardous Materials Incident Commander. The Fire Chief shall have experience in the following functional areas: Haz-Mat:  Defensive; Confined Space; Vehicle Extraction; and Structural Firefighting.

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

• Firefighter/Officer Level IV minimum.
• Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, Airport Fire Fighter.
• Hazardous Materials Incident Commander.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Valid US Passport.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Must possess an Active Secret Clearance.
