    RMS WILL BE PERFORMING BASE OPERATION SUPPORT TO THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES IN KUWAIT.

    LOCKSMITH

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Service, install, repair, modify and open a variety of mechanical and electronic locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes and vaults.
    • Examine locking mechanism and install new unit or disassemble unit and replace worn tumblers, springs and other parts or repair them by filing, drilling, chiseling and grinding, open door locks by moving lock pick in cylinder or open safe locks by listening to lock sounds or drilling and repair/replacement of safe tumbler system.
    • Disassemble locks and open locked doors using a lock pick.
    • Make new or duplicate keys, using key cutting machine, changes combination by inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock, and establishe keying systems for buildings.
    • Change the combination of locks by inserting new tumblers.

    REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

    • High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience. Experience with safes, XO and Cipher locks.
    • Knowledge of door panic bars, emergency door systems, and door closure systems is a must.
    • Certification in assigned area helpful
    • Experience with InstaKey and Medeco keying systems is highly desired.
    • Knowledge of door panic bars, emergency door systems, and door closure systems is a must.
    • Identifying keys by manufacture, design, and type
    • Rekeying pin tumbler style locking systems
    • Service and maintenance for pin tumbler style locking systems
    • Door preparation and lock installation
    • Hand file keys to known depth and space data
    • General use and calibration of key duplicating and originating machines
    • Employment of several lock by-pass techniques to include: picking, impressioning, bumping and tool specific by-pass.
    • Master key system creation and implementation
    • Understanding of high security lock systems
    • Install and service utility style cam locks

     SCOPE OF REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to disassemble and assemble a variety of Medeco Locking Systems to include:  Medeco3 mortise cylinder, decoding a Medeco3 Biaxial key, (using a Medeco3 key decoder), pinning a mortise cylinder to a change key, master keying a mortise cylinder and pinning a switch lock plug to a sample key.
    • Matrix master key chart reading, application of the MACS, specialty tools, lubrication, trouble shooting, key control programs and interchangeable core pinning specifications.
    • Ability to use and operate the specialized Medeco key duplicating and originating machines.

    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    LKM 7000 Certification

    Kaba Mas X-09 and X-10 Certification

    Medeco Factory Certification

     ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to install, service and penetrate all locks, locking systems and containers/doors that meet the requirements of FF-L-2740, 2740A and 2740B.
    • Ability to neutralize all FF-L-2740, 2740A and 2740B approved locks using FS-809B, Method 1 opening.

    LICENSE:

    • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, and background checks, etc.
    • Must have valid U.S. Driver’s License.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    • Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds; bend, stoop, work safely around equipment/materials/supplies/cargo
    • Live and work in austere conditions to include, rain, snow, heat and extreme weather conditions
    • Work long hours, exposure to the elements and hazardous conditions

    TRAVEL: Ability to travel internationally. 100% Overseas assignment

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: MUST HAVE AND MAINTAIN A DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
