SUMMARY OF POSITION:

IAP is seeking a Data Specialist/Administrator based out of San Diego, CA or Norfolk, VA that will be responsible for the proper operations and workstation performance of computers used to support training.      

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)

THE DATA SPECIALIST/ADMINISTRATOR SHALL:

• Installation and configuration of software.
• Provide for the networking of computers to common server and database.
• Provide remote assistance to instructors and users.
• Be responsible for interfacing with Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), Ships Force, System Commands (SYSCOMS), and assisting TYCOM Staff on maintenance program software issues concerning performance, upgrade implementation and troubleshooting matters as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (or equivalent)

• Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience with U.S. Navy maintenance processes and working with U.S. Navy maintenance IT systems.
• Possess a BA/BS degree in computer science related major. In lieu of degree, candidate must have 10 years minimum experience with U.S. Navy maintenance processes and working with U.S. Navy maintenance IT systems.
• Demonstrated three (3) years recent experience in managing and maintaining at least 100 networked computers in working condition, including software installation and upgrades, routine maintenance, and updating of various installed databases and LAN systems to support classroom training.
• Demonstrated experience working with key Navy maintenance programs including OMMS, AWN, SKED, VSB, MFOM as well as some programming knowledge.
