JOB SUMMARY:
The E6 Supply Technician performs, but are not limited to, materials handling; inventory and logistics, administration (to include general housekeeping); interacting with coworkers/customers/public. Complies with FAR Part 45 as it applies to this contract and his/her responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures shipment of detachment pack-ups and retrogrades.
- Submits recommended changes for continuous process improvements to managers/supervisors ensuring all functions are evaluated and consistent with established procedures.
- Follows the specifics of the Navy logistics support procedures and FAR Part 45 used to support material requirements.
- Coordinates requirements submitted by the material/supply personnel providing necessary interface among the managers, cognizant field activity, and as applicable to T/M/S.
- Coordinates all shipping requirements.
- Coordinates all receiving requirements.
- Coordinates all issuing requirements.
- Coordinates all material research with the customers.
- Assists supervisors with special projects as requested.
- Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
- Makes recommendations concerning the functions of the logistics at all supply/logistics meetings.
- Receive/ship IMRL items.
- Participates in cycle counts of inventory or annual physical inventory including research on out of balance conditions and recounts. Performs annual inventory of IMRL items at each applicable location.
- Complies with DOT Hazardous Material Transportation Procedures.
- Possess knowledge and has the ability to initiate Inventory Adjustment Records, validates not-mission-capable supply/partial mission-capable supply status.
- Uses automated information systems (computers) to include the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS), Haystack, FedLog, Pentagon 2000 , etc.
- Complies with established policies and procedures to support the program.
- Interfaces with Government counterparts on issues involving procedural deficiencies,.
- Exhibits positive, courteous behavior with customers, businesses, and coworkers.
- Complies with and follows all Company and Government safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Complies with all Company and Government policies pertaining to site operations as well as Company policies.
- Maintains accurate records of Government Property throughout the acquisition and disposition process.
- Adheres to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations including participation in FOD walk down when directed.
- Adheres to the Company Tool Control Program.
- Maintains cleanliness of work center in accordance with Government/Company policies and instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must possess THREE (3) YEARS DIRECTLY RELATED SUPPLY EXPERIENCE.
- Must have experience with material facilities and stock record control activities.
- Must have High School diploma or GED.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Experience in managing supply functions such as storage, issue, inspection, research, repairable processing, shipping, receiving, warehousing, cataloging, aircraft maintenance support, and accounting for aircraft parts and equipment.
- Able to use automated information systems.
- Knowledge of NALCOMIS, Haystack, FedLog and Pentagon 2000 preferred.
- Extensive working knowledge of Government Property Control.
- Ability to successfully communicate both orally and in writing.
- Must be customer oriented.
- Must be able to read, speak, write legible and understand the English language
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
- MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A LEVEL OF SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED BY THE GOVERNMENT.
