    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of weather conditions, preparing forecasts and issuing weather warnings.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze weather satellite imagery, upper air charts, climatology reports, computerized weather predictions models.
    • Must possess proficiency in analyzing and forecasting weather elements such as clouds, visibility, winds, atmospheric pressure and many other parameters.
    • Possess knowledge and skill to serve as local subject matter expert in areas related to Meteorology.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Must be able to communicate professionally, orally and in writing. Meeting or exceeding ICAO English Language Proficiency Requirements of Level 4.

    Required Experience

    +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: | | | | - Associate’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or other | | natural science, which includes or supplemented by at least 30 | | semester hours in meteorology or atmospheric science. Examples | | include: U.S. military technical schools; college, or equivalent | | combination of education and experience. | | - Must have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in operational | | meteorology supporting airfield services to include | | weather observing. | | - Experience in programs and services provided by an operational | | weather office. One (1) year specific forecasting experience and | | direct experience in personnel/office management, curriculum | | development and conducting OJT. Analytical case study development | | is preferred. | | - Knowledge of ICAO METAR/SPECI and TAF coding requirements or the | | ability to learn and comprehend these requirements. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS: | | | | - Completion of a DOD, FAA or ICAO technical training course. | | Qualifying courses such as USAF Weather Technician Course or | | approved WMO BIP-MT course. | | - Must have valid Driver’s License and be able to operate a vehicle | | with a manual transmission. | | - May be required to obtain a military flight line driver’s license. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+
