  • Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for the operation of equipment at a given customer site. This position will be accountable for delivering and maintaining high standards of customer service through business operations.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Inspect equipment to make sure it is in safe operating condition.

    2. Operates equipment to and from the job site in a safe manner.

    3. Cleans windows, mirrors and any debris in cab of equipment.

    4. Ensures oil and other fluids are maintained as specified levels.

    5. Performs other duties as directed.

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. This position is called upon to support the labor force personnel in job task completion. Other job functions included will require the knowledge of all jobs related to the misc. truck hauling and delivering of material and parts as directed by the department requesting services from the Truck section. Employee will be required to work alone at times but still remain the position to finish the job in a safe manner to satisfy the customer.

    2. This position works along side with labor force and other equipment in an effort to maintain customer satisfaction.

    3. This person must be mechanically inclined in an effort to maintain equipment at the jobsite often without the luxury of tools and a shop.

    Required Skills

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Ability to move up to 50 Lbs., with or without accommodation.

    2. Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves physical manual labor.

    3. Ability to maintain alertness and fitness for duty.

    4. Ability to position oneself for work conducted in and around confined spaces.

    5. Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.

    6. Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift.

     

    Required Experience

    1. High School Diploma with specialization in industrial or vocational trades preferred.

    2. Some High School Education acceptable.

    3. CDL ideal.

    4. Specific exposure to equipment or maintenance environment.

    5. Understanding of mechanical concepts a plus.

    6. MPW Certification on the operation of the one piece of equipment consisting of Dempster, Flatbed misc., Lowboy truck, Acid tanker, Oil and Water tankers, Roll truck, Flatbed truck with crane, Semi truck with trailer. .

    7. Specific knowledge of heavy equipment operation and/or repair a plus.

    8. 1-2 years "hands on" experience in heavy equipment acceptable.

    9. 1-2 years "hands on" experience with equipment maintenance acceptable.
