    POSITION OVERVIEW Alutiiq is immediately filling positions to support the U.S. Census Bureau (USCB) requirement for Pre-Screening Background Investigative Support Services for the suitability of employees who will be hired during the 2020 Census. The prospective employee will be responsible for conducting background investigations for the United States Census Bureau.

    PRIMARY/MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

    • Oversee processes and procedures in processing electronic security questionnaires, conducting investigations and making recommendations with regard to clearance eligibility.
    • Makes final determination regarding clearance eligibility process
    • And all other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires U.S. Citizenship status.
    • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
    • High School or equivalent
    • Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out duties and responsibilities
    • Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate in person
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
    • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation

     REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 1 year experience or education training certification
    • Must have knowledge of OPM Electronic Questionnaires Processing (e-QIP) online application.
    • Experience in assisting with form completion, lock-outs, password resets, account creations, and providing the registration code.
    • Experience in initiating e-QIP at the correct OPM investigation tier based on position risk/sensitivity level
    • Experience in utilizing personnel security databases including Office of Personnel Public
    • Portal (NP2), e-QIP and Central Verification System (CVS)/Personnel Investigations Processing System (PIPS)
    • Experience in administrative tasks, including but not limited to answering help desk calls, managing candidate correspondence and scanning documents
    • Must have the ability to use independent judgment to respond to requests as appropriate
    • Must have the ability to effectively communicate results both orally and in writing.
    • Experience in conducting fingerprint appointments to include scheduling and collecting. Familiarity with the fingerprinting process and the handling of sensitive PII is required.
