    Job Description

    Our Mechanical Engineering **** team is engaged in projects throughout North America, and the world and our existing client base includes transportation, oil and gas, Industrial Manufacturing Including Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing, Department of Defense, private developments. The successful candidate would be an important part of our growing team and would have the opportunity to engage across markets and geographies.

    Most of What You'll Do:

    • Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to provide the best solution for clients who represent virtually every industry
    • Perform analysis, design and documentation of fire suppression, fire alarm, and smoke control systems
    • Coordinate with other Arcadis and Arcadis IBI disciplines for all fire protection design elements
    • Conduct building and fire code studies and life safety evaluations
    • Ensure that project deliverables are met in a timely manner to a high quality
    • Make presentations to potential new clients
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    You'll need to have:

    • BS in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
    • 5+ years of experience (internship and professional experience included)
    • PE License Earned or PE Exam Passage and Awaiting Licensure.
    • Proficient with relevant software such as AutoCad, Navisworks, Revit, and hydraulic calculation type software.
    • Ability to determine the scope of assigned fire protection project, review and interpret construction documents, applicable codes, and utilize software programs to create the engineering designs based on the interpretation of project plans and submittals/specifications of contract documents.
    • Ability to determine cost-effective fire sprinkler and fire alarm system layouts, quantities, and specifications; select and schedule equipment.
    • Knowledge of code compliance of the fire protection systems and the building design
    • Physically able to conduct field inspections and analysis to upgrade and correct existing system problems.
    • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
    • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.
    • Ability to travel up to 2 weeks per month to support client, project and fire protection contractors needs.
