    Job Description

    HERE’S HOW WE WORK: The  Los Angeles office is hiring a Project Accountant to join the accounting group.

    MOST OF THE THINGS YOU’LL WORK ON:

    • Regular coordination with project managers to facilitate monthly client invoicing
    • Create all project accounts in the accounting system; maintain all project-related records including contracts and change orders
    • Compliance with specific requirements of individual projects and expense allowances
    • Close out project accounts upon project completion
    • Tracking of accounts receivable and follow-up with PM & clients for outstanding invoices (collections)
    • Keeping detailed records of cash receipts and invoicing for referencing and forecasting
    • Contact with clients (and vendors) regarding invoicing formats, allowances and W-9’s/1099’s
    • Process employee expense reports coordinating payment with payroll
    • Coordination with Office Lead, Operations Manager and Regional Finance Director for accounts receivable, revenue forecasts, financial performance reporting
    • Weekly timesheet collection/coordination
    • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:

    • Experience with invoicing for entity within the professional services sector
    • Undergraduate-level degree in accounting and/or equivalent prior professional work experience
    • Intermediate expertise with Microsoft Excel (minimum)
    • Highly detail oriented
    • Knowledge of  Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) guidelines and understanding of overhead rates is preferred, but not required
    • Excellent communication and writing skills (speaking with clients regarding invoicing issues, payment issues, collections)
    • 1-2 years Project Accounting experience preferred
    • Extremely organized
    • Able to multi-task and switch focus quickly
    • Familiarity with integrated job cost project-oriented software, preferably BST
    • A thorough knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lump sums and not-to-exceed and how they are applied in the billing process
    • An ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
    • Strong service orientation
