    Job Description

    Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology.

    Arcadis seeks a Architect to join its mixed-use team located in Salt Lake City. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a diverse and creative team dedicated to excellence in design and innovative problem solving, with technical experience, and a drive to succeed. The position is focused on leading a team to the successful delivery of mid-to-large scale mixed-use projects domestically.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Creates and assists with the creation of designs from concept through to design development with the Project Manager
    • Establishes the design framework of projects
    • Coordinates architectural and project design
    • Coordinates fee budget and schedule on architectural work
    • Functions as the project leader and primary coordinator between multiple disciplines
    • Applies knowledge of building codes and understanding of design philosophy of projects
    • Prepares and coordinates detailed design and construction documents
    • Resolves complex technical and design issues within the project scope and escalate all others to ensure project objectives are met
    • Conducts on-site observations and document site reviews
    • Processes submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI
    • Works in the development of design concepts
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • 8-10 years of professional experience and strong background in translating design concepts into solutions
    • Professional undergraduate degree in Architecture, Graduate degree preferred
    • Licensed architect with 3-5 years experience with a license
    • Basic knowledge of AIA contract documents
    • Competent knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, Bluebeam and MS Project preferred
    • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on designing architectures that meet system and service requirements.
    • Uses clear and effective verbal communications skills without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on expressing ideas, requesting actions and formulating plans or policies.
    • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on interpreting and applying knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in area of expertise
    • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
    • Local market experience is considered an asset.

    Design and Management Skills

    • Design skills pertaining to hospitality, mixed-use multifamily and retail experience
    • Able to manage phases of a project, from analysis and programming through design and construction administration
    • Ability to prepare contract documents including drawings, specifications and reports
    • Highly developed communications skills, able to participate on a project team
    • Experience with team communication and sub-consultants coordination
    • Self-directed work ethic, independent thinker and problem-solver
    • Time and project management skills, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
