Job Description

The Controller is responsible for the finance department and functions including accounting, costing, analysis, budgeting, planning, cash management, and financial reporting of the Company. Duties of the position include:

• Assure that accounting records are prepared, maintained, and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and that all ledgers reconcile.
• Manage monthly close process, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• The Controller will manage the Company’s accounting, costing, analysis, budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Lead financial integrity of the financials and assist with development and implementation of accounting policies.
• The Controller will conduct monthly financial analysis and provide insight and recommendations for business strategy and growth plans of the organization based on clear, metric based-financial and operating plans, including long range plans, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts/outlooks, and in-month performance tracking.
• Spearhead financial reporting transformation efforts. Work closely with leaders to drive the business results, lead financial interpretation of issues, and recommend correction actions for the P&L and balance sheet, including sales and dilutions.
• Provide analytical support in the evaluation of business initiatives and growth opportunities; coordinate with the sales team to ensure planned sales levels and profitability happen evaluating risks & opportunities.
• Participate and assist with business operating and metric reviews, enabling discussions about the current and future state of the business.
• The Controller will analyze relevant data such as customer trends, and historical performance to support strategic decisions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• MBA or CPA is preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting, finance, business analysis experience with companies of $50M or greater in annual Sales.
• Preferred industry experience includes distribution (consumer products) or manufacturing
• Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable information and plans
• Excellent influencing, leadership, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives at once
