Group Home Manager (Intellectual Disabilities Residential Program)
Join our team as a dedicated Group Home Manager overseeing a 4-bed residential home supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ID). This leadership role is responsible for the daily operations, quality of care, staff supervision, and overall success of the home while ensuring individuals receive compassionate, person-centered support.
Position Summary
The Group Home Manager oversees all aspects of managing a 4-bed group home, ensuring compliance, health and safety, staffing stability, and high-quality individualized care. This role requires strong leadership, organization, medical oversight, and a passion for supporting individuals in achieving meaningful lives.
Key Responsibilities
Residential Operations:
Oversee daily operations of the group home to ensure a safe, clean, supportive, and well-functioning environment
Ensure compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and licensing standards
Manage household budgets, supplies, grocery shopping, and menu planning
Maintain home standards including cleanliness, organization, and safety
Medical Oversight:
Coordinate and oversee medication management, medication administration records (MARs), and medication appointments
Schedule, track, and attend medical appointments as needed
Monitor medical needs, physician orders, and follow-up care
Communicate with nurses, doctors, pharmacies, and families/guardians
Staffing & Leadership:
Recruit, train, supervise, and support direct support professionals (DSPs)
Create and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage
Monitor attendance, performance, and staff accountability
Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing staff development
Documentation & Individual Support:
Write quarterly reports and required documentation
Oversee ISP implementation and person-centered programming
Ensure accurate documentation of services, incidents, and progress notes
Advocate for individuals’ rights, choices, and quality of life
Additional Duties:
Coordinate outings, activities, and community integration
Manage incidents and crisis situations professionally
Maintain communication with families, case managers, and support teams
Support admissions, transitions, and discharge planning as needed
Qualifications:
Experience in ID/DD residential services, human services, healthcare, or related field preferred
Supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of medication administration, medical coordination, and regulatory compliance
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
