Job Description
o Manage a loan portfolio, including:
o Past due loan monitoring and collection;
o Maturing loan management;
o Loan covenant monitoring and enforcement;
o Preparation of annual reviews, including site inspections, for each term loan;
o Outstanding document and financial reporting monitoring and collection;
o Collateral adequacy monitoring and internal reporting;
o Preparation of criticized loan memoranda;
o Interface in a courteous, efficient and professional manner with other areas of the bank that support loan and deposit gathering and management, including:
o NY Real Estate personnel
o Credit Risk Management
o Executive officers, particularly the Chief Lending Officer
o Loan Operations Department
o Credit Administration Department
o Deposit Operations Department
o Cash Management Department
o Compliance Department
o Adherence to Compliance matters, including:
o Completion of all Compliance testing in a timely manner
o Particularly strong KYC skills
· Directly underwrite new loan opportunities and modifications of existing loans, including:
o Prepare internal memoranda and associated analyses;
o Interface with Credit Risk Management, Compliance, Credit Administration and senior lending personnel to effect efficient processing of new loan underwriting;
o Prepare CRE lending packages for presentation, including appropriate research and analysis, stress testing, spreads, etc.;
o Present loan recommendations to the bank’s Credit Committee.
o Close approved loans, including:
o Interface with bank counsel to prepare loan documents which accurately reflect the terms contained in the approved loan underwritings;
o Knowledge of real estate loan documents and ability to explain all aspects of documents to Borrower;
o Interface with the bank’s Due Diligence department as needed to affect consummation of the third-party consultant reports (e.g. appraisal, environmental assessment, property condition assessment, etc.);
o Interface with the lending area’s administrative officer to facilitate the following on the date of closing;
§ Closing related memoranda/approvals;
§ Loan boarding;
§ Application fee reconciliation;
· Source new customer relationship opportunities, including;
o New loans;
o New deposits;
o Cross selling bank services and non-credit products, including:
§ Treasury products (e.g. swaps and caps);
§ Cash Management;
§ Private Banking;
§ Wealth Management investment products.
· Analyze new loan opportunities, including:
o Collateral property financial modeling;
o Collateral property inspection;
o Sponsor evaluation;
o Guarantor financial strength and universal cash flow evaluation;
o Preparation of Opportunity Memoranda;
o Term sheet preparation and negotiation;
o Ability to present proposals to clients.
Qualifications
· 5 to 10 years commercial real estate lending experience, preferably on a commercial bank platform;
· Experience with financing term, bridge, line and rehab construction opportunities secured by CRE;
· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite and Salesforce, Rims and Fiserv,
· Strong verbal and written communication skills;
· Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and contribute to internal leverage;
· Occasional travel required;
· Capacity to work independently and with motivation to achieve goals with minimum supervision;
· Responsiveness, judgment, maturity, integrity and time management skills are required.
· Minimum Four year college degree, BA or MBA
