Job Description
IDEA Law Group is a growing regional law firm that represents mortgage lenders and investor clients in judicial and non-judicial, commercial and residential foreclosure actions, title disputes, evictions and bankruptcy and real estate litigation. We are currently hiring an experienced litigation attorney for our California office. We are a high-volume practice and are looking for motivated self-starters with strong organizational and case management skills.
We are seeking candidates who have background in mortgage default related legal work and experience in real property, title review and related litigation. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and organizational skills and able to self-manage and work well with a team.
Attorney Responsibilities:
· Appear in court and argue motions necessary to the completion of both routine and contested foreclosure, eviction, title disputes and bankruptcies.
· Draft motions and prepare written discovery and responses.
· Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status.
· Analyze loan files, title reports, research and analyze case law and provide advice and recommendations to clients.
· Manage case load of contested matters on behalf of residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.
Education and Work Experience:
· J.D. degree, licensed in California and in good standing with the state bar.
· Minimum 3 years in practice; less for the right candidate.
· Knowledge of California litigation process, foreclosure and creditors rights law.
· Previous experience with mortgage default/collections legal work and foreclosure litigation involving residential and commercial property preferred.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and skills in time management, attention to detail and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
