    The Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing and developing Programs and for ensuring that established financial goals and customer satisfaction are attained. The Program Manager is held accountable for the successful capture, program execution and fielding of large scale multibiometric solutions. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Leads program and manage both technical and financial risk: manages cost by making implementation choices consistent with Program’s financial goals, manages high level technical performance by taking into account recommendations from the Project Managers
    • Presents preliminary scope, budget and schedule for Project(s) to the Project Manager(s)
    • Responsible for the coordinated planning and for the prioritization of resources and tasks within the Program
    • Provides coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program activities, as appropriate to program objectives
    • Manages and approves schedule and P&L as technical scope, resources needs and business objectives changes
    • Reports to BU Director on business and financial status of the Program
    • Accountable for continual tracking and analysis of project performance against project plan to ensure project success
    • Ensures high level of customer’s satisfaction: acts as the primary customer contact on capture, status and performance, anticipates and fulfills customer needs to ensure continued business growth, leads Program’s steering committee
    • Interfaces regularly with business leaders and provides regular status regarding project updates, problems, schedule changes, etc. Prepare and coordinate action plans to address specific business issues/problems.
    • Establishes assigned Program(s) business plan
    • Contributes to marketing and presales actions
    • Initiates a process of continuous improvement within the Program; Carries out Quality principles of the organization
    • Coordinates with Product Managers about products availability and customers’ needs
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENT, WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

     Travel requirement, such as:

    • Ability to travel locally for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops.
    • Must be able to travel occasional by air as needed to attend training, conferences, and related activities.
    • Frequent overnight travel is required; up to 50%.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS, SUCH AS:

    • General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
    • Manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools. Working areas may not be ventilated or air-conditioned.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS, SUCH AS:

    • Office environment where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.

    • Expertise and passion working with customers to understand their scenarios and business drivers and to respond to their needs
    • Strong computer skills (Word processing, Excel for simple accounting and spreadsheets, databases, etc.)
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills; must be able to prioritize workload which includes taking direction/assignments from several individuals; must be able to multi-task and be able to stay on top of multiple projects and activities
    • Proven judgment and common sense as well as good problem solving skills
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as negotiation and conflict management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work cooperatively, interact effectively and develop strong relationship skills both with customers and company personnel serving as part of the project team
    • Must be professional and behave ethically

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree Project or Program Management, or similar discipline, and/or equivalent in experience
    • Must have between seven and ten years’ proven Program Management experience on technical solutions; at least three years in a managerial role
    • Strong Project Management skills and experience in developing program documentation, scheduled, tracking program status, evaluating operational and technical alternatives, performing risk assessment and managing cross functional teams

     

    DESIRABLE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous experience in the security, defense or airspace industry
    • Previous experience with fingerprint and/or biometric technology
