    The Maintenance Technician engages in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of building, grounds, and utility systems of manufacturing.

    • Engage in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of building, grounds, and utility systems of manufacturing.
    • Execute job orders regarding the repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations
    • Perform routine preventative maintenance of all manufacturing and facilities equipment
    • Provide technical expertise to develop, maintain, test, trouble shoot and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and devices
    • Work with vendors on new equipment installation and utilize vendor resources for training
    • Follow and comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures
    • Adhere to the IDEMIA Quality Policy
    • Ensure all work is in compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced and energetic environment
    • Solid attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Lean industrial/manufacturing environment experience including TPM, 5S, SMED, OEE
    • Ability to utilize intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite to assist in the creation of procedural documentation.
    • Ability to troubleshoot advanced PLC logic issues
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues with the assistance of electrical diagrams
    • Work experience troubleshooting mechanical systems with the ability to diagnose issues utilizing mechanical diagrams

    Required Experience

      • High School Diploma/GED
        • 2-3 years of related experience in a maintenance technician role in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENT, WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Travel requirement, such as:

     

    • Occasional overnight travel as required; should not exceed 10-20% of the time
    • Frequent overnight travel is required; up to 50% of the time
    • Travel will be required both domestically and internationally; should not exceed 30-50% of the time, but may be more than 50% during key projects

     

    Working Conditions, such as:

    • General manufacturing environment.

    • The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

    • Manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools. Working areas may not be ventilated or air-conditioned. 

    • The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions

    • The employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts

    • The noise level in the work environment is typically loud; in some areas of the production floor hearing protection is required

    Physical Demands, such as:

    • The work requires light physical effort with frequent lifting and/or moving of materials in the 10-30 pound range and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects. May require normal range of hearing and vision to operate machinery.
