FM- ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Environmental Project Supervisor

POSITION: Hourly
JOB FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for assisting the site with environmental department in all efforts at the customer location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage proper collection of various waste streams.
- Process waste shipments including Hazardous waste, universal waste, and nonhazardous waste
- Operate forklift/tugger/cart for collection of trash and recycling.
- Operate baler/foam densifier.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with customers and employees.
- Provide a safe work environment for all employees.
- Maintain inspections, record keeping, and audit compliance.
- Assist and/or supervise team members as needed.
- Complete special assignments effectively and in a timely manner.
- Assist Environmental Project Supervisor in coordinating supplier and customer facility visits and audits.
- Assist Environmental Project Supervisor in driving cost savings programs implemented throughout FEM to meet required budgeted targets.
- Complete all required MPW (FEM) Human Resources and Health & Safety training, in addition to customer specific required training.

Required Skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move up to 50 Lbs., with or without accommodation.
- Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves physical manual labor.
- Ability to maintain alertness and fitness for duty.
- Ability to position oneself for work conducted in and around confined spaces.
- Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.
- Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift
Required Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Some High School education acceptable.
Able to work safely and efficiently.
Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
Professional oral and written interpersonal communications.
