    Description

    This position will support system modernization project. The focus of a business analyst is to document, review and analyze an organization’s business, including its intentions, business services, processes, and information needs to assist the organization to implement changes that lead to an improved operating environment. The business analyst serves as a conduit in the development of technology and process improvement solutions between the business unit, stakeholders, and solution delivery teams.  This position serves as a liaison with stakeholders to document a solid understanding of how the business is currently operating, future goals, and the steps required to achieve those goals. This understanding allows the business analyst to assist the organization in evaluating and defining existing and future business services, processes, organizational structure and other relevant information with the goal of identifying the best way to affect business change and achieve identified goals.

    Operationally, the senior business analyst supports the project by working with leadership, management, stakeholders, Office of Information Technology co-workers, vendors, and other business analysts to ensure tools and technology support the information gathering process, gap analysis, and subsequent trace ms, and customer alignments.]

    Ideally, candidates for this position will also have a background in complex software system testing - test plan creation, system integration test planning, UAT coordination

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Strategically plan and successfully implement new product launches on schedule
    • Ability to integrate various business initiatives, including marketing, operations and finances
    • Develop product and marketing strategies
    • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills in communicating with internal teams and with external messages to customers/market/channels
    • Ability to convert technical features into product benefits, using both creative and analytical thinking
    • Must have the ability to effectively move from analysis to insight and execution; project management experience desirable
    • Must be creative and innovative as well as customer-oriented
    • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills; must be able to prioritize workload which includes taking direction/assignments from several individuals; must be able to multi-task and to stay on top of multiple projects and activities
    • Must have strong personal computer skills
    • Ability to interact with all levels in the Company and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work cooperatively and effectively cross-functional teams and develop strong relationship skills both with customers and company personnel

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or software engineering
    • Minimum of three years product marketing experience
    • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product marketing plan throughout its lifecycle
    • Must have experience promoting and positioning technical products used in both government and civil applications
    • Must have experience in utilizing various forms of market research; an ability to understand and anticipate market trends and customer needs

     TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

    • Occasional overnight travel as required; should not exceed 10-20% of the time

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Office environment where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
