    We are seeking an energetic Cost Accountant to join our finance team.  Reporting to the Cost Accounting Supervisor, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining quantity/site/bin accuracy on the inventory sub-ledgers as well as performing general ledger to subsidiary reconciliations.  An ideal candidate must be ambitious, driven and have perseverance while maintaining a positive attitude. 

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO):

     

    • Administer the daily/weekly cycle count process
    • Administer periodic physical counts for all factories and assembly plants
    • Review and summarize periodic physical counts at all sites wherever Company inventory is stored
    • Review and post Inventory receipt batches
    • Perform monthly general ledger to subsidiary ledger reconciliations for all inventory accounts
    • Perform weekly reconciliations of central issuance factory production data
    • Prepare the monthly central issuance card report
    • Daily factory upload processing from the MAS system
    • Process the monthly billing requests for each state
    • Various tasks during month-end closing process

     

    Required Skills

    • Basic understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
    • Experience with monthly close process
    • Intermediate Excel skills and working knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools; Great Plains experience a plus
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work as collaboratively with other members of the finance team and with key stakeholders

    Required Experience

    • 2+ years working in accounting/finance
    • B.S. in Accounting
    • Experience working with multinational companies preferred
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENT, WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Minor travel within the United States required
    • General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated
    • Working hours. The employee will be required to work evenings and weekends during certain peak times such as month-end, quarter-end and year-end
    • Office environment where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
