  • Responsibilities

    COLSA Corporation is seeking a Cyber Analyst to serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). The selected candidate will also provide system monitoring and analysis support for the detection of cyber incidents and provide recommendations on how to correct findings.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    The ISSO/Cyber Analyst will be responsible for the authorization and compliance management of authorized computing enclaves. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

    • Identifies where systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
    • Provides compliance recommendations for networks, workstations, servers, and IT assets.
    • Conducts audits to ensure information systems security policies and procedures are implemented as defined in security plans and best practices.
    • Supports formal testing requirements through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
    • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems
    • Participates on response teams to ensure any anomalies are corrected in accordance with government or industry standards.
    • Validate implementation of cybersecurity software tools on authorized computing systems.
    • Validate cybersecurity vulnerability compliance scans to ensure complete and authenticated scans.
    • Monitor system auditing files, audit logs, data archiving and user activity to verify system integrity and check for unauthorized use.
    • Perform scheduled audits of assigned systems.
    • Provide oversight for role-based privileged user accounts upon required approvals.
    • Verify DISA SCC SCAP cybersecurity scans, IAVM patch installation, and manual system configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs.
    • Record, track and maintain status of the baseline configuration for each of the assigned authorized systems.
    • May develop Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) to document deviations from approved DISA STIG requirements and/or category findings.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field
    • HBSS (Host-Based Security System) experience required
    • Active DoD clearance required
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Security+CE or equivalent certification

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • TS/SCI, with Poly, preferred

    6. Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift.
