    This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with in-depth knowledge of IDMS (Integrated Database Management System) to serve as both a Systems Programmer and Database Administrator (DBA). The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of the IDMS database system. They will also be involved in database design, development, and administration tasks, ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance

    Key Responsibilities:

    IDMS Systems Programming:

    • Install, configure, and upgrade IDMS software and related components.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot IDMS system performance issues.
    • Implement and maintain IDMS security measures, including access control and data encryption.
    • Perform system backups and recovery procedures.
    • Develop and maintain system documentation.

    IDMS Database Administration:

    • Design, develop, and implement database schemas and structures.
    • Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
    • Manage database users and privileges.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and integrity issues.
    • Assist application developers with database-related issues.
    • Ensure data integrity and security through regular audits and checks. 
    • Participate in database disaster recovery planning and testing.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience with IDMS systems programming and database administration.

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of IDMS internals, architecture, and administration.
    • Expertise in IDMS SQL, DML, and DDL.
    • Experience with IDMS utilities and tools.
    • Knowledge of operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Linux) relevant to IDMS installations.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python).
    • Experience with database performance tuning methodologies.
    • Knowledge of data security and encryption best practices.
    • Experience with CA Chorus Software Manager
    • Functional knowledge and use of z/OS components and supporting hardware.
    • Functional knowledge of mainframe middleware, batch, and JCL.
    • Functional knowledge of application interfaces.
    • Functional knowledge of third-party mainframe software.
    • Operating system general knowledge for Windows/Unix/Linux.
    • Functional knowledge of Microsoft office products.
